You Don't "Pay" For Tax Cuts!

From The Letters To Rush Archives

Sept. 15, 2010

Dittos Rush,

Whenever Democrats say "How are you gonna pay for those tax cuts for the rich?", Republicans should say, "You don't "pay" for tax cuts. Tax cuts are an *investment*. The "rich" will *invest* that money [by keeping money that is already theirs], unlike you, The Government, who will wastefully spend it on more government programs."

Republicans should say, "TAX CUTS ARE AN INVESTMENT, AND YOU DON'T "PAY" FOR AN INVESTMENT."

Republicans might also add, "TAX CUTS DON'T CREATE DEBT. TAX CUTS PAY THE DEBT [by increasing revenue to the Federal Government]."
